trancejen's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's like something is hanging heavily in the air. The cats are fighting. The coffee tastes weird. The lilacs my stepdad brought over are particularly pungent. I'm sort of amped today for no particular reason. Ah, it's probably just the Fuckbrain. That, or it's going to rain. I ran into someone from my old neighborhood this week and we sat and shot the shit about our old crazy neighbors for a while. Once again I was struck by just how many weird people we had in a very small radius. There was the psychotic, alley-wandering woman who threatened to steal my cat; her whack job son who threw a brick at my head, my drug addicted next door neighbor who threw bricks at our house, the guy that held his own kid hostage at gunpoint for a weekend, the religious nuts who would post signs that Halloween was "THE DEVILS HOLIDAY", the Greek brothers who never stopped fighting(loudly) with their father, and, of course, my unicycling, roller-skating, karate-performing, breakdancing father. Wild. My current neighborhood is pretty tame in comparison. We have the odd wife-beater and drug dealer, and there were the people across the street who managed to steal the washer and dryer, but it's generally pretty quiet around here. Plus, no Dad rolling out linoleum on which to breakdance. My dad is busy these days. He's dating a woman with a six-year-old, and I guess the kid is quite a handful. This week he was busted out for peeing all over the floor at school. Yeah. I know that children "act out" in a wide variety of ways, but I think mimicking the family dog is taking things a little too far. My cousin's kid was also busted out this week, for sticking pencils in his nose and ears and jamming them repeatedly into his face because the teacher was not answering his question. Again, taking it a bit too far. Where do kids come up with this stuff? "I'm pissed! I think I'll jam pencils up my nose! That'll show her!" In other news, I have the house to myself today, since the J-Man is going with my mother to a family birthday party and I have opted to stay home. There will be much blasting of the stereo, you can bet on that. Happy Weekend.
